Clocks Back Festival
Friday October 24th - Sunday October 26th 2003

In October 2003 the Lancaster Clocks Back Festival of traditional music, dance and song held its 25th Festival.

Here are some pictures from it

A Silly Picture

This will probably be

the LAST EVER CLOCKS BACK FESTIVAL

unless, that is, we can attract more people to organise it.

This is the 25th Clocks Back Festival of Traditional Music, Song and Dance. For this reason we want it to be a great success involving as many singers, musicians and dancers as possible. Clocks Back has always been about participation - unlike some festivals which aim to get bigger and bigger by paying a host of "stars" to perform to people - encouraging both local people and visitors to sing, dance and play together and interspersing these activities with a few performances from paid guests.

We would very much like to see this continue, but for this to happen we need to encourage more participation in the festival's organisation. Some members of the organising committee have been involved in the festival for years. Others used to be involved and have been pressed into service just one more time to ensure the success of the 25th festival. Generally, though, most of the committee are not going to be available to run the thing in the future.

Fancy a job? - unpaid, large headaches, not may hours, plenty of music etc. etc.

Please think about it.

If you think Clocks Back Festival is important, fun, enjoyable, essential to a town the size, and with the historical importance, of Lancaster, easy to organise or just something you might like to try then PLEASE LET US KNOW and let's meet and chat about how you can help sustain the festival in the future.
